Toshiba Thrive Android 3.0 Tablet Coming in July

                              Toshiba is going to release its Thrive Android tablet in the US market in July. The Thrive is basically the US version of the company’s Regza Tablet announced for Japan two month before. It is powered by Tefra 2 dual core processor that can handle Full HD 1080p video playback and runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablet-friendly OS.

                
                                 Toshiba’s Thrive features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 capacitive touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel main camera, a 2 Megapixel front camera for video chat and HDMI output. It supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and provides USB connector and SD card slot. It comes with 8GB, 16GB or 32GB storage. Running Android Honeycomb, the Thrive comes with the Swype keyboard pre-installed for easy typing.

The Toshiba Thrive will be released in July in US for $429 for 8GBG, $479 for 16GB and $579 for 32GB.

Asus Padfone combines a tablet and a smartphone

                              At the Computex 2011, Asus introduces its Padfone, a combo of a tablet and a smartphone. The package includes a 10.1-inch tablet dock and a 4.3-inch smartphone, both running Android OS. The Padfone offers seamless transition of applications between pad and phone. Only one SIM card is need for the pad and the phone.
                                  
                            The pad also serves as an extended battery for charging the phone. With a large screen, the pad lets you to enlarge your screen size any time you need to. Asus does not release much information about the Padfone, let’s wait and see.

                  Nova Media launches the iCON461 3G Surfstick that comes with built-in GPS support for location-based services. The USB 3G modem has no SIM lock, which means you can use it with any network operator. It supports quad-band 850/900/1900/2100MHz HSPA/UMTS 3G network with up 7.2 Mbit/s download and up to 5.76Mbit/s upload speeds.

               The iCON461 also works with quad-band GSM/EDGE networks, meaning you can still use EDGE for internet connection when HSPA/3G is not available. The USB modem comes with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB cards. The iCON461 works with Mac and Windows PC.

                              Gigabyte brings to the Computex 2011 its S1080 slate-style tablet PC. The 10.1-inch device is powered by an Intel Atom N550 1.66GHz dual core processor and runs Windows 7. It sports 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive and integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics.


                                    The S1080 has a 10.1-inch capacitive multitouch display with 1024×600 resolution and LED-backlit. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 as well as 3.5G WWAN network connectivity. The tablet also comes with a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, 1.5Wx2 stereo speakers, and USB 3.0 connector.

                             NVIDIA introduces its 3D Vision Wired Glasses to deliver 3D PC experience at a more affordable price of $99. The new wired glasses offers the same 3D quality and features of 3D Vision wireless glasses. NVIDIA’s new wired 3D glasses uses active-shutter technology allowing gamers and 3D enthusiasts to access the broadest selection of high-quality 3D content available today, including more than 525 full-HD 3D games, Blu-ray 3D movies, and streaming 3D video from YouTube and 3DVisionLive.com.

                               The 3D Vision Wired Glasses works with 3D Vision-capable monitors, notebooks and projectors. It comes with a 10-foot USB 2.0 cable for direct connection to a 3D Vision PC or notebook. The glasses will be available in late-June.

                     D-Link announced its new DAP-1513 wireless N dual band MediaBridge that lets users to easily add up to four devices to a home wireless network. The MediaBridge supports 802.11n technology with 2.4 GHz and 5GHz dual-band and is equipped with a four-port Fast Ethernet switch. It is ideal for connecting a wide range of network-ready devices for streaming HD videos, playing online games and sharing music, photos, movies, and more within a home network.

                               The D-Link DAP-1513 can bridge a wireless signal from either a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network and features the Intelligent Quality of Service (QoS) that automatically organizes and prioritizes network traffic according to bandwidth needs to ensure a smooth connection over both wired and wireless networks. Lenovo IdeaPad S205 AMD Fusion Notebooks

                    Lenovo releases its IdeaPad S205 series notebook powered by AMD’s Fusion platform. The S205 11.6-inch notebooks are powered by AMD’s Fusion E350 application processor with ATI Mobility Radeon 6310 graphics. They have a 11.6-inch 1366×768 LCD display with integrated webcam.

                    Three models are available, the S205-103827U model with 3GB RAM and 320GB hard drive; the S205-103829U with 4GB RAM and 500GB drive; and the S205-103828U with 4GB of memory and 750GB hard drive. They all support WiFi connectivity and the S205-103828U model adds Bluetooth 2.1 support. A 6-cell battery is included.

          The prices are $499 for S205-103827U, $579 for S205-103828U and $599 for S205-103828U.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY PlayStation Phone running Android OS

Finally, Sony Ericsson officially announced its Xperia PLAY PlayStation phone at the MWC 2011. Running Android 2.0 Gingerbread OS with Timescape UI, the PLAY is the world’s first PlayStation-certified smartphone. It features a side-sliding gaming control with a digital D pad, two analogue touch pads, two shoulder buttons and the four PlayStation icons: circle, cross, square and triangle, making it look just like the PSP Go.


The Xperia PLAY is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon 1Ghz processor with Adreno 205 graphics chip to deliver 60fps playback 3D mobile gaming. According to Sony Ericsson, the company has partnered with key publishers in the gaming industry to deliver a rich, vibrant ecosystem at launch and post launch with many leading new titles available via the Android Market. The gaming phone features a 4-inch 854×480 multitouch capacitive touchscreen, a 5.1 Megapixel camera with auto focus and flash, GPS/aGPS support, Bluetooth, WIFi and a microSD card slot (8GB card included).

The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY will be available in both quad-band GSM/HSPA and CDMA EVDO versions. It comes in black and white.

          Dell releases its 21.5-inch ST2220T multitouch LCD display based on IPS LCD panel. The multitouch monitor features 1920×1080 Full HD resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250cd/m2 brightness, 8ms GTG response time and wide 178/178-degree viewing angle. The display can show 16.7 million colors.






     
          The Dell ST2220T supports optical touch technology and works with Windows 7′s multitouch gestures. It has VGA, DVI-D, HDMI inputs and a 3-port USB hub. The Full HD multiotuch monitor also provides flexible tilt angles allowing you to determine the best view for you. Dell is selling the ST2220T for $309.99.
