         Seagate announced the Momentus XT series solid state hybrid hard drive that claims to be the world’s fastest 2.5-inch laptop PC hard drive. The new Momentus XT comes 250GB, 320GB or 500GB capacities, 4GB SLC NAND flash memory and 32GB cache memory to deliver SSD-like performance along with higher capacity at a lower cost.

      Momentus XT operates at 7200RPM and features Seagate’s new Adaptive Memory technology that learns and optimizes the drive’s performance to each user by moving frequently used information into the flash memory for faster access. It uses SATA 3Gb/s interface with Native Command Queuing.
