Nokia 808 PureView Smartphone with 41 Megapixel Camera

                       Nokia announced at the MWC 2012 the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone equipped with an ultra high resolution image sensor. As the first phone to feature PureView Pro technology, the 808 packs a 41 Megapixel image sensor, Carl Zeiss F2.4 optics and the PureView oversampling technology that distil 7 pixels into 1 for stunningly sharp and clear 5 Megapixel photos. For the best image performance, the phone also comes with auto focus and touch focus, Xenon flash with up to 3.5 meter opearing range, face detection, scene modes. It is able to capture Full HD 1080p video at 30fps and there is integrated video editor.

                     The Nokia 808 PureView runs the Symbian Belle operating. It features a 4-inch 640×360 AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, GPS/AGPS support, DLNA and HDMI output. You can also find built-in FM radio and Dolby Headphones technology that transform stereo content into a personal surround sound experience over any headphones and Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback. The 808 supports quad-band GSM and WCDMA/HSPA 14.4Mbps mobile networks.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX20 Rugged Digital Camera

                          Unlike other gadgets, rugged digital cameras can be very stylish and slim. Sony shows you its latest creation, the Cyber-shot DSC-TX20, a ultra slim, stylish yet rugged digital camera ideal for everyday adventures, from skiing to trips to the beach or pool. The TX20 is waterproof up to 5 meters, shockproof up to 1.5m, freezeproof (up to 14F) and dustproof.

                            The Sony TX20 features a 16.2 Megapixel BSI Exmor R CMOS sensor, a 4x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens and the BIONZ image processor that combines with the sensor to deliver super fast up to 10fps, Anti Motion Blur, Hand-held Twilight and 1080i movie modes. The zoom range can be extended to 8x thanks to the Clear Image Zoom technology. Like other Cyber-shots, the rugged TX20 has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and it includes the Active mode for blur-free video recording. It records Full HD 1080/60i video and is able to capture 12 Megapixel stills while video recording  via Dual Record function. Rollei Powerflex 3D Compact 3D Camera

          Rollei announced its Powerflex 3D, a compact twin-lens 3D digital camera. The point-and-shoot 3D camera can capture 5 Megapixrl still images and 1280×720 HD videos at 30fps. It features a 2.8-inch LCD display and the Parallax barrier display technology, allowing users to see 3D images without 3D glasses.

                   The Powerflex 3D also offers 8x digital zoom and digital image stabilization. It has 2D and 3D mode and offers one-button switch. The 3D camera includes also HDMI output for showing 3D images on HDTV.

              
              Rollei also launches the Designline 3D digital photo frame with a 7-inch 16:9 display. The 3D digital frame not only displays 2D and 3D images but also plays MP3 with its built-in stereo speakers.

Panasonc to release 3D Lens for LUMIX G Micro System

                             Panasonic has just announced the development of interchangeable 3D twin-lens for LUMIX G Micro System Micro Four Thirds cameras. The new 3D lens will allow LUMIX G models to shoot 3D images and videos. Panasonic’s new 3D lens features two optical systems installed within the diameter of the lens mount, creating stereo images from the left and right lenses that are then processed with a 3D image processing system.

                              According to Panasonic, the new compact 3D-capable interchangeable lens will be easy to handle and allow instant 3D shooting, without distortion or time lag between left and right images – even when shooting moving objects. Panasonic plans to release the new 3D lens by the end of 2010.

Logitech's Video Calling Goes High-Def

On Thursday, Logitech announced an update to its free video calling service – it will now place video calls in high-definition.

The new Logitech Vid HD will offer 720p video calls between users who have HD webcams. Logitech also announced new HD webcams ranging from between $40 to $100, and stated one more piece of info about their upcoming Google TV: it will let you make HD video calls on your HDTV.

The new Logitech web cameras will offer at least 720p captures. The Logitech DH Pro Webcam C910 will be capable of capturing HD video at 1080p (though video calls over Vid HD will be limited to 720p). Since it's the new flagship HD webcam, it will feature a Carl Zeiss lens and have two microphones for stereo audio (supported via Vid calls) and will sell for $99.99.

The other HD webcams will be limited to 720p captures. The Logitech C510 will do 720p, and will have a mount that can spin 360-degrees; Logitech says it's so you can "swivel the webcam around and include more people on your video calls and recordings." The C510 will sell for $59.99. Less expensive 720p webcams will also be available; Logitech will sell its HD Webcam C310 and Logitech HD Webcam C270 for $49.99 and $39.99, respectively. All of the webcams will be available later this month.

Logitech also announced more information about their upcoming Google TV product – referred to as the Logitech Companion Box, though this will not be the official name when it goes on sale in the fall. The product plugs into your Internet connection, cable box and HDTV so that you can browse content from your TV and web via a user interface designed by Google.

On Thursday, Logitech revealed that this product will be compatible with the company's HD webcams and come preloaded with Logitech HD Vid for HD video calling on your HDTV. Similarly, in January Panasonic announced HDTVs that offer HD video calling via Skype. Logitech also said they will be releasing a Logitech HD Vid application for smartphones in 2010.

                     Logitech announced four new HD webcams, the HD Pro Webcam C910, HD Webcam C510, HD Webcam C310 and HD Webcam C270. All of them feature Logitech’s Fluid Crystal technology to ensure high-quality video recording.

                      The HD Pro Webcam C910 is the top-of-the-line model that is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording and 720p HD video call. It comes with two microphones for stereo audio recording as well.

                     Logitech’s HD Webcam C510, on the other hand, has a fold-and-go design and features 360-degree full-rotation. It can capture 1280×720p HD video and 8 Megapixel snapshots. The C310 also record 720p HD video and 5 Megapixel stills.

                 The C910 will be available in August for $99.99 while the C510 will be released in June for $59.99. The more budget-friendly C310 and C270 will be available in June for $49.99 and $39.99 respectively
