                Toshiba introduces the MBF2xxLRC series 2.5-inch SAS hard drive mounted in a 3.5-inch bracket that eases migration to small form factor enterprise-class drive for IT departments and enables the small form factor drives to be used in legacy 3.5-inch servers and storage enclosures.

Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrid Drive

         Seagate announced the Momentus XT series solid state hybrid hard drive that claims to be the world’s fastest 2.5-inch laptop PC hard drive. The new Momentus XT comes 250GB, 320GB or 500GB capacities, 4GB SLC NAND flash memory and 32GB cache memory to deliver SSD-like performance along with higher capacity at a lower cost.

      Momentus XT operates at 7200RPM and features Seagate’s new Adaptive Memory technology that learns and optimizes the drive’s performance to each user by moving frequently used information into the flash memory for faster access. It uses SATA 3Gb/s interface with Native Command Queuing.

StarTech offers this SATDOCK22R Dual Drive SATA Hard Drive Duplicator. It supports both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA I/II hard drives and can be used an a hard drive docking station. As a hard drive duplicator, the SATDOCK22R is able to deliver an exact 1 to 1 clone of the source hard drive to a destination hard drive that is of equal or greater size, including partition and boot sector information as well as user data at a copy rate of 72 MB/sec.

hard drive family that combines the largest storage capacity available
with the best power effi ciency and performance in its class, using as
much as 50 percent less electricity than standard desktop hard drives.
The new Seagate Barracuda LP (Low Power) hard drives help reduce
system power costs, run quieter than traditional drives and operate at lower
temperatures, extending the life of system components. They also help
reduce product costs for makers of low-power personal computers,
external PC storage and multiple-drive home networking SOHO systems by
allowing them to use lighter-duty fans, power supplies and other system
components. The 3.5-inch, 5900 rpm Seagate Barracuda LP hard drives are
available in capacities of 2TB, 1.5TB and 1TB.
